Magliocco writes that Aradia “may represent a 19th-century version of [the araadia of the Cult of Herodias] that incorporated later materials influenced by medieval diabolism: I get that they are stories passed down from generation to generation, but that doesn’t make them good.

The content, however, is anything but suitable for young readers or anybody who thinks witchcraft is all white light and pretty crystals. Aradia was also the daugher of Diana and Lucifer not to be confused with Satan. The book has very little to do with Aradia, female savior of the Italian Witches, and seems to be a Christianized version of the history of the Streghe.
Magliocco calls Aradia “the first real text of the 20th century Witchcraft revival”,  and it is repeatedly cited as being profoundly influential on araida development of Wicca.
This version of the etext, originally scanned early inwas proofread a second time in July of and upgraded to current coding standards of sacred-texts. The themes in these additional chapters vary in some details from the first ten, and Leland included them partly to “[confirm] the fact that the worship of Diana existed for a long time contemporary with Christianity “.
Leland summarises the mythic material in the book in its appendix, writing “Diana is Queen of the Witches; an associate of Herodias Aradia in her relations to sorcery; that she bore a child to her brother the Sun here Lucifer ; that as a moon-goddess she is in some relation to Cain, who dwells as prisoner in the moon, and that the witches of old were people oppressed by feudal lands, the former revenging themselves in every way, and holding orgies to Diana which the Church represented as being the worship of Satan “.
Of course, it is a must read if you are into Stregarian Witchcraft. Further he believed that the majority of the information collected for him came from “oral” rather than written material.

There aren’t even very many stories the book is very thin. The type that tospel been used throughout history and throughout the world. Four stars for the sometimes overwhelmingly exquisite poetry throughout.
