I wish every woman I know, fat or not, would read this book and ffrom how much nicer life would be if they spent all the energy they spend hating their bodies on making peace with them instead. I am really outraged after reading this book because our society puts enormous pressure on everyone to be thin, but medicine and science still haven’t figured out a good way for people to permanently lose weight.

More than anything, “Lessons” is worth having, reading, and keeping because of the much-needed and strong feelings of camaraderie and acceptance that it provides.

As usual, these fatospheer all things I know rationally, but are always good to be reminded of, and Harding and Kirby do so in that gentle-yet-unyielding way, the way you expect your best friends to talk to you, without denying the reality that making these sort of mental shifts is hard work that takes a long time.

This book is a great introductory for people who are interested in improving their mental health and getting to fatospyere just what these ‘crazy fat people’ are talking about.
